Sabres FA plans and moves so far.

The Buffalo Sabres will not be trying to acquire a #1 Center this year as they drafted two potential ones this year in Zemgus Girgenson and  Mikhail Grigorenko who both in my opinion will be on the roster in the next 2-3 years. The Sabres end the first day of FA with only one signing and that is of forward John Scott a 6 foot 9 fighter who now will allow the Sabres to not be pushed around by the Boston Bruins. This is a good transaction knowing we only spent 600,000 on the guy. Their have been talk that the Sabres are also interested in getting winger Bobby Ryan from the Anaheim Ducks but the Ducks reportedly want Ennis but the Sabres want to give them Roy. In my opinion giving them Ennis could be the right thing knowing the depth now you have at center because look their will be some problems anyway knowing that the Sabres are going to at least have Hodgson and Girgenson as the top 2 Centers then that leaves Ennis and Grigorenko but I think if you move Ennis back to wing it would work but right their why not give them Ennis for a better Winger in Bobby Ryan. Only time will tell wheter or not the Sabres make a large or quiet splash in the free agent market. Stay Tuned.

Great Season.

The Sabres lost yesterday to the Philadelphia Flyers 2-1 officially eliminating them from playoff contention. Very Very sad day in Buffalo for us I was downtown this morning and it was very gloomy but you have to look at the positives. The Sabres went on a ginormous run in the second half of season and Miller played like the #1 Goalie in the league. Also we now know we have a lot of great young players to make a run next year with Cody Hodgson and Marcus Foligno. Ennis and Stafford also played great so hopefully the great second half the Sabres had this season will carry on into next year. I believe if we bulk up this off season maybe getting another Center like Parise from Devils we can be a serious contender next year. I thank the Sabres personally as a citizen of Buffalo, NY for giving us a great season and things to look forward to next year we will be back next year that I know!

Playoff Hopes

The Sabres have dropped their last two games and the Capitals have won theirs now they are 2 pts ahead with 3 games remaining and they have the tiebreaker over us. Is there any hope? Kind of the sabres pretty much need to win out and need the caps to lose out which to me is not likely knowing we play Boston and Philly and Toronto who killed us yesterday. The Sabres have been one of the best 2nd half teams and I appreciate the huge effort they made to get there but to me I just dont see it happening. Another year where there is always next year. Sorry SabreNation :(

Dedication

The Buffalo Sabres trumped the Washington Capitals yesterday 5-1 Pominville,Stafford,Vanek,McCormick with the goals we really showed how bad we want to get in the playoffs Miller again played to vesna status which he has been doing all of the second half. So with 5 games left we are two pts ahead of Washington and 2 points behind 7th which is Ottowa who in my opinion we need to passs because if the Penguins get first we will not see more than 5 games if we are forced to play them but hey with the way we are playing who knows. Just a thought....

Playoff Push

Another year the Sabres are the hottest team in the second half and are surging for a playoff birth they made some big moves during the Trade Deadline sending Kassian and Gragnani for Alex Sulzer and Rookie Center Cody Hodgson who has been impressive with 2 goals and 2 assists in 5 games with Sabres, The Sabres also got a first round pick for the Goose (Paul Gaustad) now the Sabres have gotten in the last 18 games pts in all of them except for 2 wow this team is really showing its dedication to winning and the Fans are loving it they are tied for eight place with washington and play them next Tuesday. Lets see if this Sabre team can defy the odds a second year in a row and make the playoffs.
